The first chapter of CCA Oregon was established in the spring of 2007. Since that time CCA Oregon has 9 local chapters covering key areas in the State. In addition to the ever increasing membership, CCA Oregon has also retained a well respected lobbyist in Salem, a regional fisheries director, and an Oregon Executive director, all working toward conservation and preservation of the Pacific Northwest’s marine resources.

CCA Oregon

Advocacy

CCA Oregon uses its influence to affect change at the state capital, at the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife and at various regional and federal agencies. CCA Oregon employs one of the capital’s most effective lobbyists as well as our regional fisheries director, both people critical in our success.

Habitat

The importance of healthy habitat for salmonids remains one of our top priorities which we demonstrate by helping to fund much needed habitat improvement projects throughout the state.

The Model

Using the time-proven CCA model of “member driven” issues is executed by our volunteers and professional staff which has shown to work both nationally and regionally. Our 10 local chapters help identify issues affecting fisheries in their local area.

Hatcheries

That 70% of all salmon and steelhead caught in Oregon are hatchery fish, it is with renewed emphasis that CCA Oregon continues to work with federal and state agencies to ensure that Oregon hatcheries are properly funded with the intent of providing more opportunities to the sport anglers in Oregon.
